Watercolour Holidays

Beginners and professionals alike will find our workshops enlightening. Professional artist and teacher Sarah Bell instructs the carefully designed progression of sessions that deal with issues specific to watercolour, such as colour mixing, pigment application techniques and brushwork, as well as information and ideas about colour and composition. Sarah recognizes the need to develop personal expression and goals, and is considerate of individual levels of proficiency.
A typical day begins with a demonstration, either in the chalet or on location, which provides a focus for day's painting. The demonstration corresponds to the atmospheric conditions encountered that day. We gather at the end of the day with an aperitif while we discuss and share our work. You'll be truly amazed at the great advances you make and at the volume of exciting work you produce!

Your base for the workshops is our new Chalet Savoy which is situated on a quiet road 500 meters from the centre of town. The chalet is stylish and traditional, all rooms are en-suite some with balconies and views of the mountain. Fluffy towels, crisp white linen, quality wine and food and mountain air help you relax and concentrate on developing and strengthening your artistic skills. The workshops are tailored to the personality of each group, our week and weekend holidays are arranged to maximize time for instruction and on-location painting.
Frequent group discussions, sharing of work each day, provide a delightful dimension to the holiday.
These holidays are suitable for all: either for the independent traveler who wants to indulge their creativity or if you come with a partner who enjoys the mountains and the great outdoors then there are many activities to choose from such as walking, mountain biking, white water rafting or just relaxing with a good book, there is truly something for EVERYONE.
