The Week


Saturday Arrival and Morzine orientation. Plans for the week.
Sunday 1-2-1 Basic fitness assessment testing
Monday am- 1-2-1’s, therapies and workshops
pm – Mad Activities
Tuesday 1-2-1's, therapies and workshops
pm – Mad Activities
Wednesday Day off – optional visit to spa, or day trip to Chamonix, Yvoire or Annecy (at extra coste
Thursday am - 1-2-1’s, therapies and workshops

N.B. THE BASIC FITNESS ASSESSMENT AND EITHER ONE 45MIN 1-2-1 PT SESSION OR ONE 45MIN THERAPY IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE FOR THE WEEK. OTHER PT SESSIONS OR THERAPIES CAN BE PURCHASED (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY) AT £30 EACH DURING THE WEEK.

6-6.45 p.m. All together - wind down/stretch
7.30 p.m. Pre-dinner drink & canapés
followed by 3-course dinner or BBQ with wine (not Wed)

FITNESS SCHEDULE

  • PERSONAL ASSESSMENTS/CONSULTATIONS
    'Personal Assessments – Health and Fitness Testing (blood pressure, height, weight, body fat % and water % and lung power and aerobic fitness test) to gain a baseline of individual level of health and fitness and to make client aware of areas for improvement.’

  • RUNNING WORKSHOPS
    Covering the importance of dynamic warm ups, analysis of running techniques, speed, agility & quickness training using of specialist equipment; hurdles, ladders, belts & parachutes.

  • NUTRITION WORKSHOP
    Basic outline of the various food groups, how and why the body utilises them, hydration and nutrition for training and sport specific events.

  • CORE STABILITY & POSTURAL AWARENESS
    ‘Benefits – improving posture, body awareness, balance and whole body stability’

    Learning how to engage and strengthen your core muscles with the use of fitballs which can be used in an extraordinary range of exercises that are suitable for all abilities from the unfit and overweight to sports people, balance boards, beams, dyna bands and dumbbells will also be used providing you with a library of exercises to take away with you. Also individual core strength tests.

  • FLEXIBILITY AND INJURY PREVENTION
    ‘Benefits – reduce risk of injury, decreases muscle tightening after exercise and increases full range of movement’

    Covering the importance of stretching, and the different types of stretches, importance of rest and recovery, basic injury self-help together with advice on training kit.

  • CIRCUIT/RESISTANCE TRAINING
    ‘A varied and enjoyable training session offering a huge selection of benefits to everyone of all abilities from whole body conditioning – strengthening muscles, ligaments, tendons to improved CV fitness, power, balance, proprioception, flexibility and co-ordination.

    A fitness class designed to strengthen, tone and sculpt the whole body with the use of dumbbells, barbells, balls, boxing, skip-ing and bodyweight exercises.

Recommend training kit for the week:
  • A sensible pair of running/walking trainers e.g New Balance, Asics, Saucony, Reebok (casual/trendy trainers not recommended)
  • A further pair of trainers for other classes/activities
  • Comfortable clothing – lightweight material e.g Nike dri-fit, Adidas clima-cool including socks/sockettes
  • Drinking bottle/carrier/Camelbak
  • Small hand towel
  • Heart rate monitor (if you own one)
  • Sunglasses, cap, cream
  • Swimming gear (including goggles,hats)
